Nature: Naive

Moveset:
:bulletblue: Fly
:bulletwhite: Double Team
:bulletblue: Aerial Ace
:bulletpink: Agility

Personality:

:bulletwhite: hyper, she has a hard time focusing on things, but she has almost limitless energy it seems. This is a trait she's had since kittenhood when she used to run laps around her parents in the shop. Sometimes she overestimates this trait and runs herself dry from working too hard, so she'll usually take midday naps nearby the station if she has a shift early in the day. Sometimes this trait causes her to be restless when she feels unproductive or blocked in. If she has busy paws, she'll be happy. It's not uncommon to see her tapping her tails, humming to herself, or pacing around while she's chatting with pokes.

:bulletorange: impulsive, she comes up with crazy ideas and chases after them with no regard for consequences. This usually causes her to be reckless, but sometimes it helps in making quick decisions. Don’t mistake this for randomness~ most of the time she does what she knows! She sometimes has a hard time completely thinking things through with logic because she thinks that the process is to slow, but if she's making a plan you can know she's taking whatever it is very seriously. She finds daily routines to be draining and insists on stirring up her schedule to keep herself on her toes as much as possible. This leads her to be very busy and flighty at times.

:bulletpink: curious, she always likes to explore and see new things and get to know new people. She learns best by being in the natural world and experiencing things from different perspectives. Being in one place for too long makes her feel anxious and restless. She has a lust for adventure in her blood, literally. Her mother, and her grandparents, and great grandparents (etc) are all migratory flying types, so she needs a big roaming space to keep her entertained. She also loves puzzles/riddles, even if she might not be smart enough to solve them, for this same reason. Of course, sticking her muzzle into places where it ought not to be has gotten her into plenty of trouble too.

:bulletyellow: optimistic, she always looks for the good in the things around her even when times can be hard. She can make a game out of anything no matter the circumstance (which is super fun when she's kit-sitting). She thinks well of almost everything and keeps an open mind about how to improve her circumstances and cheer up those around her. This trait is stronger than ever now that she's been through real trying experiences and saw that in the end, things really do move on and get better, so there's never any reason to stop reaching for the light at the end of the tunnel.

:bulletwhite: dauntless, over the last few years she's faced many physical and emotional difficulties. She's suffered loss, pain, and uncertainty, yet she always returns to her bubbly self. This trait is not new to her, she did many frightening things as a kitten for the sake of adventure and exploration, but she doesn't approach situations like that with fear. Only excitement! She loves pouncing on challenges of every sort, flying over mountains and oceans, searching for her long lost family, babysitting kittens after their family was broken apart, trying to make Trefotur crack a smile. No task is too great or small!

:bulletred: daredevil, She absolutely loves being in “danger”. (ie, being in the dark or perching on a fragile branch at the top of a tree) she finds it exhilarating! She doesn't have a traditional fear of death, she's driven in her life more by a fear that she won't do enough with the life she's been given. She wants to see the whole world, chase down interesting things, open her mind to new ideas, and experience life as it goes on all around her. Despite her doubts as to why she's still here while so many of her friends and realities no longer walk the earth, she loves life. Ergo, she enjoys dancing with death. It makes life just that much more appealing when it's dangling from a string.

:bulletorange: Nurturing, whether she's kitten-sitting or helping a friend through a hard time she will give all her love and care. She loves to be a support to those in need and will gladly be your shoulder to cry on. She wants nothing more than to help her friends smile and grow as people and she also feels a duty to the island to help it flourish as well. That's one of the main reasons why she became a Ranger, to protect and serve. When something is beyond her help it makes her feel useless and unwanted. She's very guilty of being a "helicopter parent" over her friends whenever they're going through a hard time, even though she tries to hide it.

:bulletpink: oblivious, sometimes while she's adventuring she forgets that she's in a dangerous situation. Hind sight is 20/20. This also happens in relationships too, where she won't realize right away that what she said was rude or that she was cutting into someone's private conversation. She's usually the last to know about relationships on the grapevine unless they directly effect her inner circle of friends. When something really matters though she'll try to pay better attention. When she's with friends or on the job she tunes in as much of her attention as possible. Despite her best efforts, she's always conscious of movements that are happening in her peripheral vision because of her flight habits, which may be why she's so distracted.

Her strengths are…
-she has loads of energy
-she is good at standing up for herself.
-she can come up with ideas (though they are silly) on the spot.
-her personality draws people in, so she makes friends easily
-due to diligent work and effort, her movements are now punctual and graceful, she's not clumsy anymore. most of the time

Her weaknesses are…
-she doesn't think things through and often gets herself and her friends into difficult situations because of it
-when she is hungry she tires fast
-her hyper personality can get a little annoying and hard to put up with at times for those around her
-she can be a bit oblivious sometimes
-she has a hard time seeing other people’s point of view.

Held Item: Soothe bell: “Jinglie” She's had it ever since she was a kitten, she loves the beat up old thing to death. The ribbon is torn and ratty. It’s the only thing left that she has from home. She usually has it tied and clipped onto her fur under her wing, but it gets covered with feathers.

A little background info wall of text:
Before Pokepaws
A long time ago two swellows met in a little town on Pokepaw island. One was the son of a trinket shop owner while the other was a migratory passerby. Her eyes met his as she was lingering near the window and admiring the wares. Her exotic heritage was beautifully expressed through her sleek, bright plumage and unusual patterning, but when Desmont tried to court her Magdeline would have none of it. You see, this particular migratory group was rich in tradition, following the guidance and living under the protection of Rayquaza. She knew that if she took an outsider as a mate they would need to take on the Massiel name with her and come to live with her flock. Having high doubts that a 'slacker' like Desmont would ever take up that mantle, she tried her best to shake him off her tails.
Doomed by fate, her efforts were in vain. The seer of their group foresaw a storm that would blow them off course if they attempted to make it to their next stop before it passed, so the caravan remained on the island longer than expected... long enough for Desmont to win her heart. Magdeline Massiel wouldn't admit that she spent that entire winter waiting for the day she could see him again and when she finally did in the spring the visit was far too brief. She felt hollow and stretched, knowing that the love of her life couldn't be with her and that she had to keep up a facade and pretend she wasn't interested in his adorable antics. By the time she saw him again in the fall she'd nearly driven herself mad. Her caring younger sister insisted that she couldn't ignore her feelings any longer, so the evening before the caravan was ready to leave again she went to visit him since he hadn't shown his face yet.
Desmont was in his kitchen, he'd started up his own bakery since she'd seen him that first time and was making some use of himself. He'd been wondering for the past year if the feline of his dreams was ignoring him just because he was still working at his parents' place. All year he'd waited for the caravan to come around again so she could see that he could bee a good provider but every time he tried to get himself to go meet her and her family he felt crushed under his own anxiety. What if she still didn't love him? what if this was all for nothing? but he couldn't let all this hard work go to waste. He wrote a letter for her and set to work baking her a loaf of bread to deliver in the morning before she left.
That was when there was a knock on the door.
There on the step was Maggy, already broken down to tears, and demanding to come inside. She confessed the truth about her feelings, her family situation, and how passionate she was about the Rayquaza creed. He told her about the improvements he was trying to make with his life, how she'd inspired him to be more responsible, how he wanted to be at her side, and the distance between them was unbearable. They talked past sunset and the bread almost burned but they caught it and had a laugh and teased eachother over it.
"You still have a far way to go if you're still leaving bread untended in the oven you fluffhead!"
"Maybe I just need an extra pair of eyes in this kitchen so I don't wind up setting fire to the whole island huh?"
He asked if he could talk with her family and maybe find a way to work things out. Benjiro, the current head of the family and Magdeline's father came to a decision about it. They were free to marry; Maggy would stay on the island this winter and teach Desmont all the things he needed to know about the followers of Rayqaza as long as he promised to join the Massiels in the spring. While Maggy would miss her family she couldn't be happier with the offer. Things were really looking up... but there's always an "until"
Against Magdeline's better judgement, the two of them had kittens before the flock returned. Monty assured her that with his thicker fur, the kittens wouldn't be as susceptible to the cold as the Massiels were. He was right on that point, but neither of them anticipated the brutal blizzard that smothered the island that year. All of the kittens managed to get caught in the snow that night, betraying their parents' stern warnings about it. The parents and rangers scoured the forest desperately in the morning to find them, and they did... At first they thought all the kits had succumbed  to the cold. By some miracle, Aire's three brothers managed to keep her warm, the 'runt' of the litter survived.
When he returned, Benjiro was appalled. He reprimanded his daughter, saying she should have known better than to have kittens so far north during the winter. He called her many things, ignorant, impatient, foolish, incapable, he wouldn't allow his granddaughter to be raised by such a shameful individual, much less allow her and her mate to call themselves Massiels. Desmont stood up for his wife, saying she'd been through enough grief and that Aire already had loving family on the island who were much more compassionate than "you lot of fault-shaming hypocrites". He told them that he'd never let them take his daughter away and if he ever saw them talking to his family in that way again he'd drive them out with tooth and claw. They left on rotten terms, never to speak to the couple again, never to repair the damage done. Maggy's heart was broken, it felt like everything she'd ever believed in was shattered. Aire would never hear much about this exchange. She only wondered why her mother stopped teaching her about the legends.
As for her brothers, she never felt too distant from them. Their spirits were lingering on the island long after they had passed, so she often visited them in the dead of night in a meadow that seemed to have a connection with the spirit world. To her mother and father it seemed she'd named her imaginary friends after her brothers, but they just never saw them. Aire is unaware that she can see the ghosts of those she's been close to because she had that near-death experience as a child, she just assumes that everyone sees visions of the departed sometimes.

During Poke-paws
Much to her parent's disdain, Aire continued through her young life to enjoy mischief, always trying to find adventure. Her parents worried about her all the time and that annoyed her more than anything. Her love for exploration has led her to many grand adventures with some of her favorite people. When she joined the Explorers Guild (at the irrationally young age of 9!) Their fretting never ended. They made up excuses all the time to get her to stay home and help with the bakery instead. They often got on her nerves, but as she grew up she couldn’t help but love them both. They were so tender and loving with her, despite the issues with pokerus on the island at the time causing everyone's personalities to go awry.
She made many friends, had thrilling encounters, found pokecats to look up to, and even had a hopeless crush on the trainer she was taking battle lessons from. It seemed like all was going well yet again until team rocket enslaved the guild and made them take to the tunnels of the dormant volcano on the island. They weren’t sure at first what they were looking for but Aire wandered deep into the depths and found the magma stone that would later lead to the end of the island. Her parents were killed in Heatran’s attack and she lost most of the cats she knew and loved. Her whole world was destroyed, but in an effort to preserve her mother’s last wishes she seeks nothing but to help others and trust that everything eventually turns out alright.

Pocket-Felines year 1
When she came to the new island she joined the rangers to ensure that peace would be kept with the other pokes. The lure of the fresh new island beaconed, it didn't take long until she'd explored the whole face of it, but the tunnels underground still held even more secrets. She didn't dare venture down into the deeps at that time though, not after what had just happened to her previous home. She still felt too much guilt, and anyway, the island needed her on the surface to deal with all of the problems that plagued the new little town. The previous residents of the island (though mostly dead) did not share their land openly. Several times they were nearly driven from the shores, but they stood resolute.
Aire started to recover from her post-traumatic stress, but the snow of that cold winter only reminded her deeply of the sorrow in her soul. She tried to reach out and take up a kitten-sitting job for one of the Elites of the island and realized she loved being around kittens. Sadly like all the other things in her life, tragedy befell that family when the father died in a misunderstanding between the Kalos refugees and the Cianwood islanders. Their mother became a recluse, forcing Aire to take on a majority of the parenting of their household, but she loved being Kenny and Ownen's auntie all the same. She also made friends with a rocket named Hallow who decided to switch sides and become one of the rangers. Over the summer she started to get comfortable with her new life, her new 'family' but that never lasts long

Pocket-Felines year 2
Fall came all too soon, and with it disaster. a massive amount of cats suddenly went missing, along with many people's personal items. Many blamed the rangers for not being vigilant enough. Aire felt helpless, useless, smothered. She grew closer to one of her old friends from Pokepaw, Richard. Maybe it was the warmth that drew her in, but at the time she felt too trained by the emotional stress to entertain a romantic thought. She also confided many things into the loyal paws of her now best friend, Hallow, and they drew closer as well. When it was finally revealed that the thefts and missing persons were caused by the castle's ghosts and that they'd been using them to fuel the binds that held Kyogre and Groudon, much of that stress in her life was lifted. With the appearance of the legendaries and the big mystery solved, Aire felt the urge to take flight.
She couldn't weather another winter, with what snow did to her psyche, and she had so many questions about the legendaries that needed answering. She decided to seek out her mother's family, her only living relatives, the Folowers of Rayquaza. Even though the Delta stream had already passed and the winter storms were pressing in she left the island on her quest. By a stroke of luck, or maybe fate, she was caught in a storm that buffeted her straight toward Rayqaza's Isle, the floating island in the sky that his followers pilgrimage to every year. She met many families there with rich with heritage, language and culture. (and trade goods, since being migratory is advantageous for that sort of thing) Most importantly she met the Romeros and her own family the Massiels.
The family broke into tears when they realized that the long lost hatchling of their flock had survived the cataclysmic destruction of the island and come back to them. Many weeping and belated apologies were made for the cold wing they'd given her parents as they despaired over being too stubborn to forgive them while they were still alive. She of course forgave them, knowing their sorrows were sincere and not having known too awful much about why they'd been distant before. They taught her many things about the Creed, legendaries, and other traditions (like their primary tongue, Japanese). The Romeros who saved her on her arrival taught her how to windsurf (and also some Spanish since their English was very poor). She learned about the other flocks and schools of Followers who came from all around the world and heard stories of the vastness of the world. By the time she went home she almost didn't want to, but the greater part of her missed her friends, and she knew she'd return soon enough. So she came back, seeing that the island had changed drastically. New islands to explore, new people to meet, new mysterious things to investigate. Taking some time away really helped refresh her home and made her feel more comfortable in it.

Aire began to settle into her new life as a migratory citizen of cianwood. It was strange to be gone most of the time but she enjoyed the

RP example: (from the Fire and Brimstone event in Poke-paws)
Aire flew over the town, trying to skim as low as she could. "anyone still down here?"
Something was missing
something very important but she just couldn't put a paw on it.
She made a low pass over the marketplace, it was in ruins, but she wasn't sure if she could see any cat, the ash in the air was getting thicker. She perched on the roof of what used to be ivy's shop, and tried to think of what she should do when a wave of dread crashed over her.
where's my mom and dad...?
She began shaking as she looked around frantically for her house, trying to distinguish the wreckage as the town she once new. Then she saw it, a large gaping sinkhole right where their house had been built. "MOM?! DAD?!" she screeched as she streaked into the earth, but suddenly paws reached out and grasped onto her fur. She squeaked in shock, they were cold, very cold. She turned her head and was greeted by the face of her father, but something was wrong. He looked wrong and his paws were too cold.
"don't worry about us Aire." he assured with his calm, deep voice, "your mother and I are going to take your brothers home now." Behind him, her mother and still youthful taillow brothers hovered in the smoke.
that can't be right, they were dea- her eyes widened as her ears slid back, "you don't mean..."
Her mother licked her head, "You need to stay with the other pokecats for now, all of you have a long road ahead. They'll need help and you will too, but that's ok. Everything will work out the way it's supposed to."
"so don't be in a rush to follow us!" Rili chirped playfully. He looked so little now, it was hard to believe he was bigger than she was before.
Guni and Kyleep nodded and giggled, whatever was going on they looked excited.
am I dreaming?
Her voice wavered, "goodbye... then."

...
They were gone.
The second she said it they were gone.
Like they had never been there.
But her mothers words still rang in her ears.

They'll need help and you will too but that's ok.
With tears in her eyes she lifted her wings again "I have to find someone. There has to be more poke's still on this island."
